Revitalizing Lives: Free Physiotherapy and Health Support for Seniors
On 29th September 2024, Rajani Care Foundation successfully organised a free physiotherapy camp at Sewarth Vruddhashram, Para, Rajajipuram, Lucknow.
The main objective of the camp was to improve and maintain the physical mobility of the elderly residents of the ashram, to ensure that their bodies remain active and agile.
The main goal of the camp was to provide physiotherapy services to elderly individuals to help them manage and improve their physical activities. With age, many senior citizens experience a decrease in their mobility due to joint pain, muscle stiffness, and other health issues. To address these concerns, the camp provided expert consultation, therapeutic exercises, and necessary medications to help reduce pain and improve joint flexibility.
Dr Jitendra Singh, a renowned physiotherapist, played a vital role in the camp along with his team of experts. They conducted a detailed assessment of the physical condition of each elderly participant and suggested a set of exercises specifically designed to improve physical activities and reduce joint stiffness. These exercises, performed regularly, are expected to contribute to increased physical mobility and better overall health. Additionally, Dr Singh and his team provided medications, where necessary, that target common age-related physical ailments. In addition, the camp also included physiotherapy sessions where specific equipment was used to provide heat treatment for stiff joints, helping to reduce pain and promote healing.
During the camp, a number of useful health aids were distributed to the elderly participants. This included knee caps, elbow caps, hot and cold water bags, as well as essential items such as saris, suits, T-shirts and pants. These provisions were aimed at meeting the physical and basic everyday needs of senior citizens.
The success of this camp was largely due to the tireless efforts of the dedicated volunteers of Rajini Care Foundation. These volunteers assisted in organizing and managing the camp, ensuring that all elderly residents received timely care and assistance. They helped in the distribution of items, coordinated medical consultations and ensured that the camp ran smoothly throughout the day.
The initiative by Rajini Care Foundation highlights the importance of focusing on the overall well-being of elderly individuals. The camp not only addressed the physical health issues faced by senior citizens, but also aimed at improving their quality of life by providing them with essential items and assistance. Heat therapy sessions along with physiotherapy exercises helped relieve stiffness and pain in the joints, a common problem among the elderly.
The Foundation plans to continue organizing such camps in the future, with the aim to reach out to more and more elderly individuals in need of medical assistance. They also intend to expand the services provided during these camps, ensuring that every elderly person gets the care and attention they deserve.
The free physiotherapy camp organised by Rajani Care Foundation was a remarkable initiative that successfully addressed the physical health needs of the elderly. With the valuable contribution of Dr Jitendra Singh and his team, along with the dedicated support of the Foundation’s volunteers, the camp made a significant positive impact on the lives of the elderly residents of Sewarth Vruddhashram. This service initiative not only provided physical relief but also brought hope and care to those who needed it the most.
