A Birthday of Light: Diwali Moments at Sevarth Vridhashram
In a beautiful confluence of celebration and charity, Rajini Care Foundation (RCF) in association with Gaurav Rai Ji (Fitness) organised a heartwarming event at Sewarth Old Age Home in Rajajipuram on 28 October itself. The occasion was twofold: to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, and to honour Mr. Gaurav Rai’s birthday – a day he chose to spread joy among the elderly residents of the home.
A devoted supporter of RCF and a familiar face at its charitable events, Mr. Gaurav Rai received blessings from the elderly, wishing each one well for the future. Their dedication to serving others reflects the true spirit of Diwali, a festival that symbolises compassion, light and community.
The celebration began with a special lunch prepared for the residents, a small gesture that brought immense joy and created a sense of togetherness among all those present. While enjoying the meal, the elderly residents shared stories, laughter and memories, bridging the generational gap and adding a meaningful touch to the celebration.
After lunch, the RCF team, along with Mr. Gaurav and Mr. Praveen Mishra and colleagues from the organisation, distributed return gifts and Diwali gifts. These included practical items for the residents, reflecting the festive spirit and reminding of the thoughtfulness behind the day’s activities. Each gift was a symbol of the commitment of RCF and its supporters to ensuring the comfort and happiness of the elderly, who often feel isolated during festive times.
Diwali is a time when we celebrate not just the outer lights but also the inner lights – the kindness that spreads when we come together for a purpose larger than ourselves. Mr. Gaurav’s birthday celebration at Sewarth Vruddhashram was a reflection of this principle. By choosing to celebrate his day in the company of people who are often forgotten by society, he reminded all present of the importance of empathy, respect and generosity.
The event left everyone with a deep sense of gratitude that lasted long after the festivities were over. Rajini Care Foundation, in particular, extends its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Gaurav Rai, and the entire team, whose efforts brought smiles to the faces of the elderly at Sewarth Vruddhashram. This celebration was not just a day of celebration; it was a powerful reminder that a single act of kindness can brighten lives in unimaginable ways. As Diwali draws closer, let this event inspire us to embrace the spirit of giving and connect with those around us. With each act of kindness, we can create ripples of happiness and build a more compassionate world.
